From a simple “hi” in a Facebook message on 19 December 2012, a quiet beginning unfolded—two young hearts, just 15 and 18, unaware that this small moment would one day become a lifetime.

On 30 March 2013, on Easter, we chose each other. We were young, and the world had its doubts. Many questioned how something so serious could grow from something so early. But even then, we felt it—something steady, something certain. While voices around us wavered, we held on to what mattered most: us, and the faith that God was writing a story far greater than we could see.

Thirteen years passed, and love did not come easy—but it came faithfully. Through university days and seasons of growing, through five long years of distance that stretched our patience and our hearts, we held on. Through sickness and health, and through the uncertainty of a pandemic and lockdowns, nothing could stop us.

We are opposites in every sense—a golden retriever and a black cat. Yet somewhere along the way, our differences became harmony. We grew, we adapted and we shaped each other. What began as two separate lives slowly became one—woven with the same laughter, the same dreams, the same love.
